We offers a variety of services for cardiology patients:
CONSULTATIONS
You can make an appointment to consult with our cardiologists to diagnose, treat and manage a variety of cardiovascular diseases, including:
- Arrhythmia (irregular heart beat)
- Congenital (at birth) heart disease
- Congestive heart failure
- Coronary artery disease
- Heart-valve diseases
- Hypertension
- Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (thickening of the heart muscle)
- Pulmonary hypertension
.
ECHO
We do Echocardiograms to assess the general functioning of the heart.
DOPPLER STUDIES:
carries out doppler studies to diagnose many conditions such as:
Blood clots Poorly functioning valves in your leg veins, which can cause blood or other fluids to pool in the legs (venous insufficiency) Heart valve defects and congenital heart disease Heart valve defects and congenital heart disease Decreased blood circulation to the legs (peripheral artery disease) Bulging arteries (aneurysms) Narrowing of an artery, such as those in the neck (carotid artery stenosis)
ELECTROCARDIOGRAMS (ECG or EKG)
Our cardiac imaging unit is well equipped to diagnose various heart conditions. Electrocardiograms (ECG or EKG) are done to:
- Check the heart's electrical activity.
- Find the cause of unexplained chest pain, which could be caused by a heart attack, inflammation of the sac surrounding the heart (pericarditis), or angina.
- Find the cause of symptoms of heart disease, such as shortness of breath, dizziness, fainting, or rapid, irregular heartbeats (palpitations).
- Find out if the walls of the heart chambers are too thick (hypertrophied).
- Check how well medicines are working and whether they are causing side effects that affect the heart.
- Check how well mechanical devices that are implanted in the heart, such as pacemakers, are working to control a normal heartbeat.
- Check the health of the heart when other diseases or conditions are present, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol cigarette smoking, diabetes, or a family history of early heart disease.
RESTING ECG
We have a Resting ECG used to monitor the functioning of the heart while the subject is at rest.
STRESS ECG
The Stress ECG monitors heart function when the subject is under stress.
HOLTER MONITORING
We have the Holter monitor which is used to monitor heart function over an extended period of time usually lasting 24 hours. It helps to detect abnormalities that may not be detected in short durations.
